tapping the fuel rail for FPR

i bought an after market adjustable FPR and i tapped the end of the rail with a 1/4 pipe thread for a hose barb. a pipe thread should seal all by its self, but it is not sealing 100% and there is some fuel residue leaking from the barb
which = engine fire
so my question is if there a fuel resistant teflon tape? (the regular stuff, iv been told it will only resist gas sor a short period of time)

i am going to put my other rail and stock fpr back on untill i get it to seal

any ideas?

oh and the haltech is up and running, 400 horsies here we come

The back end of the cast S4 fuel rail is 12mm x 1.25 thread.
They make an adapter to -6AN already. :P
You could've just got the right adapter and not worry about tapping anything.

If you're running NPT thread, you NEED some kinda thread sealant - this is why it's leaking.

I didn't know fuel ate Teflon tape?

well i was told that with a pipe thread all the teflon will do is cause there to be a space between the two metals and the gas will find its way thru.
i could use some teflon and keep my eye on it, but i would rather be 100%
i think that any kind of sealer is no going to be optimal when you have fuel pressure pushing on it 24/7

Uh, who told you that?

Uh, Teflon is inert.
It doesn't react with anything...short of lots of heat.

well i would not reccomnd using regular teflon tape just because it was not designed to be impervious to gasoliene or petrol products
here is what you should use
and it seems to be holding up just fine
