Question Taking out AC = fuel cut??

Today i took out my AC compressor and condensor and all the lines. I took the shroud off the fan to have better access at everything. By the end of the project i was to lazy to put the shroud back on. So i dont have all of the stock intake on, just the airbox itself(with its cover on). So i took a test drive and when i hit 5,200 rpms it just stops. Could taking the AC off and modifing the stock intake a little bit (i also have a 2.5" catback exhaust) cause fuel cut?!?!?!

Well as stated above, removing the a/c isn't going to cause a stoppage of fuel to the rear rotor. Maybe a little more info and someone can help. What did you do to modify the intake? What boost numbers are you seeing?

I know removing the AC would have no impact on fuel cut. On the stock intake it has the peice that is on the shroud and goes to the air box, well i took that peice off and just have the box with the little end still stickin out. I dont know if this and a catback exhaust can cause fuel cut but when i hit 5,200 rpms my car just stops.

I checked ecu after I removed everything from the A/C system. it just thought the A/C was off.

so A/C should be un-related to your problem. check the stuff that the other people are talking about and get some more info.

I would put the boost gauge on first.... incase there is a problem or something (wastegate line came off while working on it)

you can see if it goes too high and let off before it blows up... instead of just knowing if it goes past 5200rpm or not now.

so what does the car go into some kind of a protection mode if the wastegate vacuum is disconnected that would limit it to only 5200 rpm???
