Talking taking care of my single turbo fc help !

I have a new fc that's been built ported with a big turbo and all the nice stuff I need some help keeping it in top notch condition here are a few of my ?s feel free to add anything you might find useful

When to change the oil and is adimitsu or whatever really the best for my car ?

How do i keep my rotors clean they are slotted and the housings are ported

My spark plugs are supposed to be hot plugs I guess that means they run hotter ? What should I replace them at and will it effect my tuning I am running ls1 coils

What's the best thing to keep my engine shining ?

My turbo is oil cooled anything I need to do to keep it in good shape ?

Bov lines silicon or something harder ?

Coolant additives ? Seems to run hot

Fuel additives my car is tuned to run on 108 and is premix what can i add to my fuel to help achieve this and keep my insides clean ?

And a/f gauge I have one but need to know how to install its a three wire that it lighted I have a o2 sensor but its not hooked to anything cuz the car runs on fuel maps

Can i adjust my air to fuel anywhere I travel a lot and long distances and i think the elevation change is causing me to run rich I actually shoot flames out the exhaust

I know its a lot but any help is good

Don't waste money on that fancy boutique oil. Just regular old 20W-50 from the parts store will do the job. Castrol seems to be the favourite.

What are slotted rotors?

As long as the car is tuned properly and not excessively rich, the rotors will stay clean.

Since I don't know anything about your turbo, EMS or boost level I can't say anything about your spark plugs. But typically one would run 4 trailing plugs if the boost is above 15 PSI or so and at 400 RWHP or more.

What's the best thing to keep my engine shining ?
I just use a spray bottle with a mixture of dish soap and water every time I wash the car. Spray on, rinse off. Just make sure to keep the engine clean because cleaning it up after it has been dirty for a few years is where the problem is.

My turbo is oil cooled anything I need to do to keep it in good shape ?
It's too bad that you have an ancient turbo design. Modern turbos are water cooled and require no special treatment. They are much more reliable. With an old oil cooled turbo, you'll want to let the car idle about a minute or two after any hard driving before you shut it down.

Bov lines silicon or something harder ?
Silicone lines are fine.

Coolant additives ? Seems to run hot
Fix the problem maybe? More info about your intercooler, rad and fan setup is required.

Fuel additives my car is tuned to run on 108 and is premix what can i add to my fuel to help achieve this and keep my insides clean ?
No. Also, please more info about your tune, turbo, boost level, etc. 108? REALLY?!

And a/f gauge I have one but need to know how to install its a three wire that it lighted I have a o2 sensor but its not hooked to anything cuz the car runs on fuel maps
Read the instructions that came with the gauge. But I suspect this gauge is a narrowband gauge, which won't be of use to you. You need a wideband.

Can i adjust my air to fuel anywhere I travel a lot and long distances and i think the elevation change is causing me to run rich I actually shoot flames out the exhaust
EMS? What are you running? Can you provide a list of mods to the car?

as aaron said a list of mods is a must and also the power levels the car is running and is tuned for in its current driving stait.

as for cooling it sounds like the rad/fan combo is not enough to keep the new turbo cool

i read the comment about it being tuned for 108 octane and then about long road trips.... really?

if it's really setup to run 108 then it most certainly isn't going to be your daily driver. 108 requires RACE GAS 108 octane fuel @ ~$8.00-10.00 per gallon, you can't toss in some shitty octane booster, the engine will pop. read the bottles, you need about 100 of those bottles for a full tank of fuel to get anywhere near 100 octane and it would have to be retuned because octane booster is generally just methanol or ethanol which has much less energy content than race fuel, hence a leaner burn which = pop!

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...6#post10595166 this is the car I bought should have all the info you guys need and yes I'm switching to my vert forbade daily driver so I have 900 miles to go home before I switch but I will still be in a different elevation then where I bought the car . As for cooling I am getting a different nose that exposes more intercooler and also relocating the antifreeze overflow container to get more airflow oh and bought a carbon fiber hood with vents that face back towards the rear of the car so that the air has a more freeflowing exit route also that turbo my be water cooled ! It should only be a few years old at most its that nightslide mentioned in the link provided is it oil or water cooled

this is what i would suggest too.

he hasn't enough experience to touch the car yet, take it to a specialist and have him go over the car to get an idea of how to explain things to you.

we have NO idea the specs of your car and obviously you aren't giving us anything to work off of either. that thread doesn't explain many of your questions. knightsport turbos are usually hybrids, which are oil and coolant fed, Garrett T04B or T04E based turbos.

well then all i can say is you should buy a project turbo car to learn the ins and outs on. you bought an extremely clean already built one ready to roll, if you start taking things apart on it you can upset the workings of the car and possibly turn the engine into a brick.

if the car is guaranteed to be tuned well, just drive it the way the previous owner said to.

if you want to redo things on the car then you'll simply have to wear out the search function or ask specific questions. asking a million questions in one thread about something we all can't physically touch and have limited information on is just going to confuse you further.

keep the recommended fuel in the car, premix the fuel if it is required to, keep the boost level at or below where it was tuned to run at, acknowledge any buzzers that are trying to get your attention and take note of any puddles of anything that settle under the car when you park it.

Why don't you ask lucky 7 about it? Fris said he knew the car in the po's for sale thread. Aaron gave you good advice as well.

My boost is only at nine psi the car makes about 330 rwhp and slotted rotors are slotted u think it cuts down on enertia like a lightweight flywheel and also makes then sort of " slippery inside of the housing what I don't know is how they are slotted

well, did the previous owner talk about the car at all? that is why people are questioning it at all. it seems like you were too excited about the car to take any advice he gave at all, if he did. i know if i built a car and sunk $25k into i would write a list down on paper so the next owner would care for it.

the previous owner should know everything about the car and what you should or shouldn't do with it.
