Taking apart my turbocharger(s) have a few Qs (searched)
I've got one old rusted looking turbo with no play and lots of rust. I've got another turbo good looking, no rust kinda dirty but has in and out play, and oil all over the back turbine, so its obveously leaking oil out the bearing.
both S4's
I want to dissemble them and swap the good for the bad then port the wastegate.
so far i have the compress side off and the fins are clean and free, but the hotside is giving me trouble.
first: do i need to take the turbo shaft part and the turbines out before removing the hotside housing?
Sacond: do i need special tools to swap bearing or anything over, i already see the hotside has that funning looking bolt. :\
third, could i just used the slightly rusted turbo or will it hurt.
i am only going to be using this turbo for the breakin of my new s4 engine , then i will be going Garret. is there a way to skip the turbo totaly? i mean an easy one?
thanks in advance.
