Fuel gauge acting wierd

Since I bought my 7 for 601 bucks, I'd expect some things to not be perfect in the car. And today, I will be talking about my fuel gauge. It hasn't been working right ever since I got it. It reads empty all the time UNLESS i fill the gas tank full. The gauge then responds and reads "F" on the scale. After driving it 46 miles to my college campus, it stops working and drops back down to empty. It's really not a big deal to me, since the Fuel idiot light works i will still know when it's running low. I want to fix the problem though. Any ideas? I'm not very good with these things.

Learning bit by bit everything about the car!

Floats on the fuel pump are skewed. There's actually something written about it in the FAQ, I think...could be wrong though.

Do a search, it should come up.
