Taking apart motor...

I am in the process of breaking down the 13B motor I have from my '88 and i was curious if the slide hammer and puller set that harbor freight sells would be enough to remove the dowels holding the pieces of the motor intact? I mean, the description for the tool says it can handle bushings, seals, sleeves, bearings, bronze or oilite bushings, dents and pressed-in bolts..this would probably work right?

You can usually pull them out by hand, if not yes it should work. Also, a bolt can be threaded into them and pulled/tapped out accordingly if they're being naughty.

so since you're taking apart a motor and rebuilding is it difficult? or do just need a guide sort of to tell the steps of doing it

This one from HF works very nicely for pulling the pilot bearing.
