I got stuck on this when Building the engine.
I didn't feel like dropping the Turbo to take the lower Mani out.
But one thihng.Your Coolant line is attached to the Turbo anyhow.so you gotta drain coolant to take the lower manifold off.
I didn't have coolant in when I took the lower off.
I DID manage to get the Thing OFF..but I had to loosen every bolt on the Exhaust Manifold and the Turbo in order to get some room to get at the bolts..and When you Put the manifold Back in,Make SURE that you put the LONG bolt IN the manifold and then Put the manaifold to the engine.then put the smaller ones in,Or else you won't be able to put that Long bolt in,as the Turbo won't let you Put it in,OR take it straight out.
So Ya.it is really Easier to get the turbo out,and out of the road in order to get the lower manifold Off.
