tachometer wont work

I was driving my car today and came to a stop, and the tachometer went to 0 and is "stuck" there. What is the problem? How do i fix it? Also its raining a lot here, dont know if that has anything to do with it or not.
thx

it's most likely corrosion on the pc board on the back of your gauge cluster. Clean the contacts with a good electronic contact cleaner, such as Caig de-Oxit or Bullfrog. Use a brass brush with light pressure. This has solved all of my gauge problems.
