Tachometer...

My tach doesnt work, i just but this fc and he told me it was a blown fuse. Does anyone know were the tach fuse is located, i already check the one thats under the dashboard but still no luck.

Hmm there isnt a tach fuse my man.


Its been awhile but as i recall your tach gets its signal from one of the coil's.

If all the other gauges work, this will confirm the above. There is no fuse just for the tach. Could be the wire or connection to the trailing coil (near the back) is bad, or even the plug/connection/solder near the cluster. More likely, though, it is the tach itself, but check the other stuff first.

I'll have to check your profile to be sure (specify year, NA or turbo next time), but if it's an s4, you should be able to pick up a tach cheap to swap in.

Edit: Well, your profile says 1989 FC3S (I'm assuming non turbo), but you should still be able to find a spare cluster. The clusters disassemble such that you can replace just the tach or swap the whole thing. Tip: Try the gauges before you screw the black surround back in.
