I have just installed some different coils on my 2nd gen and now i am not getting any tach signal on the dasboard so of course no rpm gauge.Could someone tell me what wire i have to reconnect to get back my tach to work,i know it is a wire close to the coils but i cant remember which one.Thanks.

i know the tach works off your trailing coil,so check the wiring there, maybe the coil you put in is no good?

Yes. get a ohm meter and see if the spare bullet connector on the trailing coil has some volts coming out. If your tach worked prior to canging the coil that coil is probably bad..

It gets a summed signal from both coils, and is a neg output, unrelated to the neg or pos of either trailing coil by itself.
