Question T3/t4 Upgrade - What Do I Need?

Yes, did a search and can't find a laundry list of what I need. I have a 1988 RX7 Turbo II. I wish to upgrade the turbo to a T4. Can anyone tell me what I need to complete the installation/upgrade?

I am going to buy a T3/T4 Turbo -

Don't buy a t3/t4

a t3 exhuast side is smaller than the stock hot side, you'd also have to buy a new manifold.

If you mean a hybrid stock turbo with a to4 compressor wheel/housing then you're going to need:

1. bigger fuel pump
2. bigger injectors
3. some sort of way to control the above injectors
4. either retard overall timing, or find a way to control ignition spark
5. If you want to run over 11-12 pounds and not heat the absolute **** out of the air - front mount

There's a million combinations that will work, the above is just general requirements, how you choose to do that is completely up to you.

A T3/T4 can be used on an RX. It's a matter of sizing it appropriately that's the key.

sure, but why bother? If you're buying an entire new turbo I don't see the point in not going t04

I'm not going to argue with that point. But.....it's not because it's overly small. One could save a $100-200 going T3/T4 over the T4.
