the gas tanks are diff between s4 and s5, not so sure if it will fit, the s5 is a larger tank tho....

as for using the turbo II trany short answer no you cant use it
UNLESS you get all these parts too
to use the t2 trany, u would need, a t2 flywheel, a t2 clutch and pressureplate, a t2 slave cylander, a t2 starter.

then either a custom t2 to na drive shaft. OR
use the t2 drive shaft, get a t2 rear diff, and t2 half shafts...

problem is all the t2 and na parts are different diameter on shafts and rear diff bolt patterns and ect..

a t2 trany has a flat pan that is removeable on the bottom, and the drive shaft is alot larger than an NA its like 3" thick.

You could sell that TII driveshaft for like $150-$200 and buy a TII flywheel, TII clutch, TII pressure plate, TII slave cylinder, TII starter and a driveshaft from an automatic FC and use your NA Diff etc. Or as mentioned above get the TII LSD and axles. Either way you will be into a lot of money.

kompressorlogic- got it right accept the "custom driveshaft"

The automatic driveshaft bolts right up between a TII trans and NA diff, its a little shorter and some say you need a spacer/washer etc BS, I ran mine straight and it worked like a dream, many others ran this setup with no problems as well.

Or sell that trans and driveshaft for much more then you paid and get a NA trans, and walk away with money in your pocket.

Good Luck!

So does it matter if it's a TII automatic or n/a automatic driveshaft? I don't know if there is a difference just wondering.

As far as I know there were no ATX TII's...I didn't know that about the driveshafts, I wonder if theres any benefit to using the TII diff/half shafts (strength wise) over the N/A besides the fact that TII's probably have a shorter final drive.

there is a difference among auto, t2 and n/a driveshafts.
if you wanted to do a t2 trans, you will need the whole drivetrain, minus the engine.

in able to do a full swap, there are a few things needed:
1) t2 trans
2) t2 driveshaft
3) t2 diff
4) t2 halfshafts
5) t2 flywheel
6) t2 clutch and pressure plate
7) t2 slave cylindar

if you actually search, there are about 1000 threads on this already, i know of 5 in particular.

peace

Like I said auto drivshaft is a little shorter but it will work just fine, I did the TII swap and ran my NA rear for a while and it held strong. I did end up swaping to the TII LSD and axles, but not due to problems with the setup.
