t2 swap
So I Jus picked up a s4 t2 engine. I am putting it in my 87' gxl. The engine came with ecu, wiring harness and trans. It apparently has an s5 turbo setup. I was Jus wondering if the wiring harness might be modified for this. The car was a t2 chassis. I've been reading and saw there is some plugs that need to be added? Is this true? The engine ran when pulled I guess. How many wires need to be modified to do this swap. I have no p/s,a/c, heater, nothing. Jus used for track only. I still have my n/a harness. Should I adapt that for the swap?
i did my swap and used the STOCK NA harness.
are u asking if theres going to be a difference because of the s5 turbo?
--i dont see y there would be.
the only difference was the injector plugs, on the harness, and thats it.
i did this swap three years ago using the NA harness, and havnt had a issue yet!
u need:
ecu
boost/vac sensor
throttle cable
a driveshaft to go from tII tranny to NA rearend (found on mazdatrix)
and tII maf
...think thats it

just the ends of the injector plugs, like the end of the harness u would plug into the injector.
other then that, everything else stayed the same
now s5 ENGINE to s4 body/harness very different story, must have s5 harness, ecu yadayada
the ecu number (n327 or whatever) must match map sensor, maf sensor
u will also want to ditch the NA fuel pump and get a walbro 255
the stock na will starve the tII engine
