*Note, this is not my engine. The TII I am looking at seems to have this "caked on mess" of oil on this pipe.

Are you referring to that big hose (coolant) or one under/behind it. There is an oil line right behind it near the engine for the turbo oil supply. You can follow it coming out of the top of the turbo itself. Line could be bad...

hmm, well youve got the intercooler piping circled

off the top of my head a leak down below it could be coming from maybe the oil injection lines, those are down there... but thats doubtful.. i havent gone that deep on the left side of my engine bay yet so thats all i can think of at the moment

edit - i dont think it could be the turbo because thats located below where you've circled, unless somehow it's leaking oil so badly that its going through the pipes?

i'll tell him to elaborate more..
