t2 instant stalling problem

i've just recently bought a 87 fc n/a with a 91 t2 in it, it starts and stalls right away unless you put the foot down on the gas as soon as it fires to keep it alive, or sometimes it'll just start and idle around 1000 rpm, then as soon as you tap the gas, it dies.., either one occurs depending on her mood...
i've checked the compression, sparks, tps sensor, bac valve, intake leaks, and they were all good, and another thing that should be noted, timing was off when i first got this car, so before it wouldn't idle, but now i've reinstalled and turned the crank angle sensor so the leading yellow timing mark on the crank pulley lines up with the timing pointer thus able to idle and gives the symtoms above, but when i try to line the trailing red timing mark with the timing pointer it stays on the yellow mark... so does that means that the leading and trailing sparks are firing at the same time? if so, how could i fix this on a rotary?
also is the airflow sensor the same as in a n/a and a t2? i think the timing's what causing my problem but i'm also suspecting my airflow meter...

any help would be greatly appreciated

sincerely,
Eddy Chiu
