T2 engine problems white smoke

MA T2 engine problems white smoke

my buddys selling his t2 cuz he thinks he blew it but iv talked to a few ppl and he
has him self and they think anti-freeze is getting into the rotor and causeing alotttt of white smoke out the exhaust most likely cuz of a gasget is lettin anti-freeze out,and since i jst totalled my s14 in need of anouther car so thikng of picking his up but has any one had this problem or knows that will prob need to be fixed????

its not a simple fix, if its a blown coolent seal the engine has to be rebuilt

Yup needs a rebuild. Soft seals at least and you may as well rebuild the whole thing. Not a very easy job but it can be done if you have experience with cars. If not I would not suggest buying it.

you need to verify the coolant consumption or pressurization of the expansion system before you go assuming a coolant seal is bad.

yea i figured id have to rebuild it knowin its a rotory,only thing is it was rebuilt once before but guess i have to.

Heh. Rotary engines are not all rebuild candidates. You can get over 100k miles out of one without too much of a problem as long as you take care of it. And on the plus side compared to most engines they are much simpler to rebuild. I'd say if you can pick it up for around a thousand and put another 1500 into it getting it rebuilt you will have yourself one of the best cars ever made.
