its not a simple fix, if its a blown coolent seal the engine has to be rebuilt

Yup needs a rebuild. Soft seals at least and you may as well rebuild the whole thing. Not a very easy job but it can be done if you have experience with cars. If not I would not suggest buying it.

you need to verify the coolant consumption or pressurization of the expansion system before you go assuming a coolant seal is bad.

yea i figured id have to rebuild it knowin its a rotory, only thing is it was rebuilt once before but guess i have to.

i just got one and im hoping thats not whats wrong with it. the guy we got it from was kind of an idiot..

Heh. Rotary engines are not all rebuild candidates. You can get over 100k miles out of one without too much of a problem as long as you take care of it. And on the plus side compared to most engines they are much simpler to rebuild. I'd say if you can pick it up for around a thousand and put another 1500 into it getting it rebuilt you will have yourself one of the best cars ever made.

verify your problem before you go tearing into things. it'll possibly save you a huge headace and tons of time
