Hey, I'm looking at a t2 engine soon and wanted to know good ways to check to see if it's good. I don't think there will be a way to check the compression, but what else can I look for?

I am also in the same situation, the engine is on the ground almost complete. I have read that compression tests on cold engines mean nothing is that true ?? Can I still make a compression test connecting a battery to the starter and try to get some readings with a piston compression test gauge ???
