T2 driveshaft fits NA tranny\LSD? or is it custom

My impression was that nothing on the NA and T2 drivetrain interchanges with one another, unless you swap everything from flywheel and back.

So my friend got a big thick 3" diameter driveshaft from his parts car, and the original NA one he has on the other car is 2 1/4" diameter. Can anyone confirm the sizing?

Now the funny thing is, he managed to bolt the 3" driveshaft right up to his NA transmission and LSD. i know for a fact he didn't do anything special to make it fit. Counted the teeths and it matches so he mounted it in. And it works too. Is this even possible? or is this more then likely a custom driveshaft?

Thx

i made the guess based on the fact that it's about the same size as my driveshaft that connects to my T2 tranny.
(i hope that's a t2 lsd i got too hahaha, or else i'm gonna pwn myself whe ni order a 2way lsd to find that it won't fit)

so NA has driveshafts that's as thick as the T2 shaft?
