Talking T2 Conversion Finally Running!

Ok, it's been about 5 months since I started this project and it ended up being a lot more work than I originally set out to do, lol (originally I was going to just to the swap and that's it, no cleaning, painting, etc). I am only going to post a handful of pictures here since most are already hosted on my website (most listed under the My T2 Conversion link). Anyhow, I'd like to thank the people of this forum who directly and indirectly helped me with questions and concerns I had (gotta love that SEARCH button!).

You got that right! A few people from the forum wanted me to post progress pics, but I decided to wait until the engine could actually be started before doing anything, lol.

Well with everything so far, including the rebuilt engine and T2 "conversion package" from Kevin @ Rotary Resurrection, the fiberglass T2 hood, a black interior (converting from maroon to black...upcoming project), the FC2000 front (replica from Rotary Extreme), and all the other little stuff that adds up (lateral links, all suspension bushings, HKS SSQV, Eibach front and rear anti-sway bars, etc), I am into this project a bit over $7000 so far.

Haven't driven it yet, but hopefully this weekend!

Thanks again guys, it's great to share this with FC enthusiasts because half the people that talk to me about my car or see some progress pictures of what I am doing look at me like I'm insane or something.

Great to see you finally got off your *** and got that thing on the road! Just remember to be easy on it, and drive it as much as possible for breakin...road trips help trememdously.

<shameless plug mode on:>

IF anyone else is interested in such a setup, I have 3 to offer at this time, the engine to be built to spec. Price in the $2500-2800 range, plus shipping and installation. Contact me for details, and read this page:

www.rotaryresurrection.com/turboconversion.htm

<end plug>

Nice shameless plug.....That is a very nice swap. I hope my car will look that nice some day. Now all you need to do is shave the side moldings and it'll be perfect. Great job.

Just over $7000 so far......there was so much other stuff needed it was insane! Mainly "things I should change while I am here" things, not the actual cost of just a straight conversion.

I've got to say that Kevin is a straight-up person. You ask a question and he'll answer it, and it will be an honest answer. (I had to say that so I could be qualified for discount prices with him later, lol j/k)

I should also thank Icemark and NZConvertible for answering some questions I had a few months ago when all this was new to me (although they may not remember it). I sent them each a PM with questions and they promptly answered, and one even referred me to Kevin. I'll also thank silverrotor for the FD alternator and some encouragement, as well as Husemoller for constantly being on me to get this conversion done, and finally Dave from FC3S.org and some of the other forum members (from here and the clubfc3s forum).

7,000 is acutally a very good number considering the quality and time you put in. Not only do I commend you for the time and effort you put in your car, but the time you put on your website to explain what you went through.

Very impressive, if you're going to the trouble to pull the driveline out you may as well do exactly what you've done... re-paint all the bits and go that extra step, it obviously really made a difference.

Nice job.

I am doing a TII swap too but can't afford a rebuilt yet.
Rotary Resurrection seems to be the best priced engines available.

Once I get enough $$ back up from the conversion I'll be getting one from him.

Any motor mods? or is it pretty much a stock TII under the hood?

BTW: looks really good, nice work.
