T04 Hybrid when do you see full boost?

I got 1k on the reman now so I am boosting a bit now.

Wondering when you guys see boost and how much?

I have stock exhaust and a custom 3" TID with cone filter.

I'm only seeing a couple psi, but I'm not revving past 3500-4000 RPMS yet.

Wait, are you driving and seeing only a few pounds of boost under wot. Or are you sitting at the traffic light reving it?

I will, don't worry, I know I need exhaust mods.
Exhaust was low on the list for safely doing my project.
As you can see (sig) all other must haves are installed and I will be getting corksport catback and DP, MP.

I'm just curious what others with T04 Hybrids are seeing even if they have exhaust mods.
Wondering if others are hitting boost farther in the rpm range like mine is.

Are you running a T04?

TO4E-46
Ported wastegate
8° Exhaust clip

That is what I got on my 91. However, she is having issues. Only put down 208 on the dyno. The only good thing was that was making power right up to 7800rpm

Before i blew my turbo, i had a fucked up t04...the thrust bearing was filled with silicone . but i was still hitting like 8 - 10lbs (didn't go higher due to the car not being tuned) around probably 3500 - 4000. and my mods are as follows: streeported motor, 550cc prims, 1100cc sec, 2 1/2 exhaust, custom intake, TB mod, ported upper/lower intake mani's, microtech, nippondenso FP. you should talk to brian at BNR and ask him when he thinks you should be seeing good boost, that guy knows more about turbos than what's good for anyone. then you can figure out if its just because of bad back pressure due to exhaust or what. but my guess would be that you should be hittin full boost around 4k

I have a To4 Hybrid and I have the same problem, but my boost kicks in full even later. I make boost till 8k+ but I don't hit alot of boost until 5-5.5k

It's a bummer, and I'm still not at all sure why... I have a full true dual 3" wide open exhaust. see mods below

I did email brian, he is the one I got my turbo from.
Hopefully he will get back to me soon.

Once I break my motor in more I will be able to open it up more and really test it.

Right now WOT i dont see hardly any boost until after 3000.

After I pass smog I'm going to gut my cat.

Geez, almighty! What type of TO4 are you running?

Do you have the horse power plot?

That is rough. Mine is full boost by at least 3000rpm.

Let me try my dyno plot again.

Ok, this is my Tenth try. I cannot add a file. WTF is happening!

I am running Bryan's (BNR Supercars) Stage 3 T04 hybrid w/ 15-Deg. clip. It's been like this since day 1, it now has about 4000 miles on it. It's been like this for month's i can't firgue out why. And beofre anyone says wastegate, or IC piping leak ... that has been more than well gone over trust me. Also my secondary throttle plates aee openeing just as they should.. I get the same results with the secondaries in or out.

What type of TO4 is it. What I mean is this. What compressor wheel is it?

http://64.225.76.178/main.htm

Just a guess here. But maybe it has to do with that 15 degree clip on that turbine. Maybe the engine is not moving enough exhaust to move that compressor wheel.

Not sure the reciept says;

Turbo Upgrade stage 3
HT18 Turbine shaft.

His site is down, or being moded so I can't get anymore details then that on it. I have a huge street port on the motor, so I can't imagine why it woul;d not be enough exhaust to move it.

3mm streetported motor, full racing beat exhaust, no AFM (Running wolf3d), To4b compressor side with a v trim wheel, S5 exhaust side, unported wastegate...

starting at 2500rpm, on a roll-on in 3rd gear, I'll make 15psi (full boost) by a little under 3500rpm .. I can hold the 15psi right to redline... the car has dynoed at 275 RWHP on a mustang dyno.. this is at over 3500ft altitude and the stock intercooler... hoping to get more power as soon as I get my front mount finished..

That is simply brutal. I have seen less lag on a T66 :O

that is currently how mine is as well. I don't see much more than 3 psi at 4500. I know that I have a huge exhuast leak, so I'm sure that isn't helping at all. I just have a hybrid with stock s5 hot side and upgraded comp. wheel.

large street port, stock otherwise engine wise,
microtech, 550 primaries 1600 cc secondaries, 255lph, rrfpr, a super modified hyrbid turbo, large custom FMIC at 4800rpm I can hit 21psi right to redline!
however I have about 10-15lbs from 2500-3500rpm.
so i think that you definitely have some issues with your turbos. you should be getting descent amount of boost at 3000rpm! at least 5-8psi!
