Swapping a T2 motor into a S4.

Im not going to run the OMP so that is not an issue. I havent bought the motor yet so I still have a choice on which to go with.

Lets start with the harness. A few connectors on the engine harness are cut, some that went around the intake and top of the motor. The original plan with this car with to put a completely different motor in so during the clean up of the engine bay the removal wasnt done as cleanly as it should have.
Im leaning to a S4 T2 because of all of the differences I have read between the harnesses. But even the JDM and USDM harness is a little different, correct? But are all the connections on the engine the same? Could I repair my harness using the one that comes with the motor?
As for the S5 harness, I would need the entire harness over the entire car for everything to work correctly? And being the case Im guessing I will need other things such as the gauge cluster and so forth?
I might just spend the extra cash and locate a front clip as I will be swapping over from a automatic to a manual, will a RHD clutch assembly be the same as a LHD?

you can use an jdm s5 t2 to swap into an s4. pretty easy the way i did it the second time around.

things you need
1. use your s4 na harness, afm (adjust the spring tension inside)
2. remove all emissions and omp
3. s4 t2 tb w/ tps and bps
4. s4 alternator
5. rtek'd s4 t2 ecu or some type of piggyback

then you swap it in just like any engine, wire up all the electronics then you should be good to go. also with the injector clips you wanna swap it out with the orange ones or the s5 ones.

i should really do a write up on how i did my swap.

Im sorry, I forgot to clarify some things while i was going over what to post in my head. lol

Its an 86 NA, as said an automatic. It also has a manual steering rack, so thats yet another thing I dont have to worry about. It has light suspension mods done to it.. Add all this up and you can see why I jumped on buying it for a swap.

Sadly time is short on getting it running as I will be moving 1200 miles in a few months and I wanted to drive it down. After weighing my options Id much rather a 13B, but not for the sake of an easy swap. As stated, it doesnt have to be a S5 motor, I havent bought anything yet and Im just looking at what options I have right now. Id rather keep it 100% stock until I have some real time and money to dump into modifying and do things correctly.

To be honest, Im finding S5 stuff to be a couple hundred dollars cheaper (not to mention a friend can get one local, no shipping costs) but if its going to cost a couple hundred in extra parts and take an extra month just to swap and modify many other things, Id rather an S4. But even with the S4, will the NA harness work with the T2 motor or will I have to use a T2 harness?
