Hey guys,
I am a 1st gen guy,so I came here to ask you guys a question about a second gen. I found what looks like a nice 91 'Vert local to me with an automatic tranny that needs replacing. I would get it for my father. The price seems good for a car in good shape other than the tranny issue, but I was wondering if it would be feasible to swap to a manual instead of fixing the auto. I have a 87 parts car that I picked up last year that still has the tranny, driveshaft, and pedals in it. Would that be all I would need,or do I need to swap the computer/wiring harness as well? Is this a stupid idea? Is there any major differences between a manual tranny from an 87 base model(4-lug),and the 91 very manual tranny? Any help or guidance is appreciated.

If you have access to welding equip, remove the crossmember braces from th eframe and install on the '91. Tricky, but can be done and then you don't need to make the trans adaptor.
