s4 TII 5spd dies when in gear

So I took the TII out for a drive today. When I come to a stop(in gear with my food on the clutch) I have to give it alittle gas to keep it alive. However when I pull it out of gear the car idles just fine.

I was gona bleed the clutch master cylinder tomorrow and see if that does anything.

Anyone else have an idea what might cause this?

Sounds like a bad pilot bearing.

does it roll forward still with the clutch all the way in? Is it hard to put it into first gear from a stop?

Nah the car stays still when its in gear at a stop and no brakes applied, and it is easy to go into first... well all gears actually

what emissions and idle control systems have been removed from the car? On deceleration or when quickly popping the clutch in, the BAC valve and the dashpot are supposed to keep the car from stalling.

The car still has the BAC and all off the emissions minus the air pump

The neutral switch on the trans changes the idle speed a little when in/out of gear. I don't think that's related to the issue, which is most likely a vacuum leak or idle that needs to be adjusted (BAC, VarRes, TPS).
