swap pressure sensor in a supercharged engine?
Someone posted a while ago that convertibles, 1988 particularly in this case , have a N338 ECU, which is compatible with the 86-88 Turbo2 engine and harness.
I also read in another post that the pressure sensor in RX-7s cars control timing retard rather than fuel delivery. This doesn’t seen to be definite, but likely.
Since I'll be supercharging my engine ( sc kit has been sitting in the garage for 3-1/2 months!), is it possible to swap out my n/a pressure sensor to a turbo2 boost sensor? I hoping to do two things:
1) gain benefits of timing retard under boost. Even though I’ll only have 6 psi, anything to help engine longevity would be nice.
2) Install a turbo2 gauge cluster. The stock boost gauge reads the signal off of the pressure sensor to ecu wire. I know it's pointless since the stock boost gauge is known to have it's problems, but I have a series 4 and a 5 lying around and it would be something interesting to try.

I've looked at a few wiring diagrams and it looks like the pressure sensor wire is the same in each. The brown wire w. red strip going to the 2B position, whatever that is. The only difference is a tap for the boost gauge.
Are the wiring connectors somehow different?
