Swap Help '91 Turbo II motor into '89 GTU

2 years ago, I picked up spotless '89 GTU, locked engine, auto, $500.00. Then learned the downsides of the 6-port engine. Went ahead with the project anyway. I bought arebuild kit from Atkins, 2 new rotor housings, manual tranny & related parts, posi axle(4.30). Last month, buddy calls, he's got a line on a '91 Turbo II. It runs. It's licenced. And it's got a Gateway clean-air sticker. Too bad it looks like hell. Picked it up for $300.00. I plan on re-building the turbo engine using the stuff I bought for the '89 (I Have not put the other one together yet). The rotor housings I bought were "street ported" on the exaust side. I also want to port the intake side and re-finish the side housing surfaces. I know I need to swap the computer and alot of other stuff, but would like to get any advice I can that can help me with this swap. I work in a machine shop, so I can do alot on my on. Any suggestions?

First off, the best advice someone could give you is get a TII tranny as well. If you intend of putting the TII motor to potential, your n/a tranny won't hold up.
There's whole archives on n/a to TII swaps. Look 'em up.

Oh yeah, plus if the engine still has the flywheel on it, it won't work with an auto unless you take the flywheel off and throw the counterweight from your n/a engine on it.

I plan on using the manual in the TII. It has faster gears. I really want to try and keep it leagal. Even if it means using the stock exaust, computer, and cat to pass the test. WE have a 2 year sticker. You get my drift?
