Thumbs up Suspension Upgrade Time!

I've been racing stock class in the SCCA with my 89 NA for the past three years and I am feeling the need to get into more competitive classes with more and better drivers.... most of my competition in E Stock in my region are older guys Sunday-driving their Miatas, So I regularly place first in the class by a few seconds. Now that we've run our last event for the season I'm going to start upgrading my car to run in the one of street classes... SM2 or CSP.

These just arrived in the mail today.

So I'm ready to upgrade the 18 yr old suspension... This is step 1. I got Tanabe GF210 springs, Prothane bushings, a Mazda speed rear-camber adjustment bar, New front strut mounts, and all new rubber to mount the springs on the struts (KYB AGX). I already have the AGX's on the car.

I'm going to install these tonight... I'll take before and after pics. Hopefully the new springs will clear my front wheels (17x8 +35 225/45 tire)... I saw some pictures of Teins not clearing stock T2 rims... The GF210 front springs look like they are wide at the bottom like the Teins... so I'm hoping they aren't too wide. Anyone have problems with an 8" wide +35mm offset rim with the Tanabe springs?

Also are GF210 rear springs progressive rate? They have more coils at the top relative to the rest of the spring.

Here's what I'm talking about...

When I was researching the GF210s before I bought them people on the forum, some said the GF210s were progressive but the majority said they had linear rates. It seems that the fronts are linear and the rears are progressive... can anyone shed any light on this?

So why aren't the coils at the top of the spring spaced the same as the coils at the bottom of the spring?
