suspension question

I've been searching all morning and can't seem to find anything on stock suspension. whats the difference between all the models (se, gxl, turboII, etc.) suspension. Im asking because i have some 16x7 wheels that are hitting the struts in both my 86 gxl and 88 gxl? any help would be helpful thanks again in advanced

SE had the standard suspension. 4-lug

True GTU had the same suspension as the TII

GXL had the A.A.S. (Auto Adjusting Suspension system)

TIIs had their own suspension.

GXL and TII shared the same heavy duty brakes.

S4 GXL and TII had Clutch-type LSDs GXL: 7", TII: 8" Both 4.10

If your wheels are hitting the struts then they are the wrong offset for the car Period. Buy different wheels.

All models use the exact same type of strut and spring. The only difference is going to be valving of the strut and spring rate (nothing to do with size). If they rub on an 86 GXL then they will rub on a 91 Turbo II.

You should also post the Offset of the wheels and whether it is in the front or rear of the car or both.
