suspension popping only from a stop
suspension popping only from a stop
On acceleration from a dead stop there is a pop, sounds like rear driver side tire. Doesn't do it in r verse or any other situation. I first thought front diff mount but I have tried to buck the car in 2nd to try to reproduce the sound and can't. I figured that if the mount was bad it would show during the bucking.
I'm going to shake down the rear end when the weather clears bit until them I'm trying to find someone who has had the issue and corrected it so I can focus on what is common to fail.
I was also thinking a sticking caliper but is I come to a stop and roll the car in neutral it rolls freely. Any suggestions?

dont take this the wrong way....i once had a loose jack rolling around in the trunk and hunted a "clunk" for like 3 days until i figured it out on accident.
otherwise check your body mounts, but if you put it in gear and take a sharp stab at the throttle it would sound like that too.
does it happen when you go over bumps? if it does check your shocks. mine were super blown and when that happens the valves open and slam shut over and over and it makes this really loud clunking, like when you swat a spring-style door stopped in your house just kind of a slower cadence.

Bumps are solid, no clunks or pops or anything unusual. Tried stabbing the throttle repeatedly in 2nd gear, got it to start bucking but no noise. Taking off from a stop is the only way I can replicate the sound.
first place i would check is the diff mount. such a common problem with them and does what you say yours is doing.. its an easy thing to check.. just get under there and see if the diff is seperated in 2 pieces. lol
