Sorry to drag this from the grave, but I only did a search for my NAME, and this stuff pops up.
I want to straight-out some things said about me and the stock DTSS.
I never claimed they were faster on the track.
I did claim they do work as Mazda advertised, if you can tailor your driving style to suits them.
I was taking the 80 / 50 west to I5 south ramp at over 80mph with a 1987 GXL with junk tires and blown right rear shock.
Since the blown shock was the loaded corner, it didn't really affect left turns - this ramp was a wide left turn.
Once I got comfortable with the DTSS, I was surprised this piece of junk could corner at speeds like that with total crap tires.
Posted speed limit was 40mph I think.
The local Sacramento, CA people know what road I'm describing.
The DTSS is not bad, if you can work with it.
If you can't, it's totally unnerving.
On a dedicated track car, I would rather have the eliminators installed.
