Supra T04*

A friend of mine has an 89 Supra Turbo. He was telling me that Supras come stock with T04? turbos.

Any truth to this? If so, is it a T04E, T04D? I am not sure what the last letter signifies.

Can anyone educate me.

Actually, they came with a CT-26 turbo. Nothing super exciting.

The MkIII Supras can be wicked fast cars, BTW.

There's a pic for ya.

It looks kind of like a T3 design. It's made by Toyota.

Its a pretty big (physically) sized turbo, but it won't be any use on a rotary (if thats what your thinkning). The A/R on the exhuast side is far too small.

I know a guy w/ an 87 MKIII, modded engine, upgraded turbo. Runs high-12's launching in 2nd gear, and puts down over 500RWHP (I've seen the dyno sheet, but can't remember if it was 521 of 512)

Mind you, this was at 20#'s of boost. But he'd kick my *** at 0-boost too.
