Supercharger arrives soon!

I just thought I'd let you guys know that my supercharger kit has been mailed out and should be here tomorrow. I'll be sure to post pics when I get it. I'll install it within the next week or two, depending on how my schedule turns out, and after I get it up and running, I'll go dyno tune it and post the results. Then, before winter really kicks in, I'll try to take it down to the dragstrip and see what kind of times I can run.

So the setup will be:
Camden EFI SC kit
4x720cc injectors
Walbro 255lph fuel pump.

I wonder if I'll break my NA tranny. I'm really not going to be able to drive like an ***.

Supposedly this is going to make ~240rwhp, but I'm guessing once I get it dyno tuned and all set up, it'll be closer to about 210. Cheers.

I rode in codeblue's camden supercharged 1st gen at sevenstock. That thing is a torque monster. Obviously with the horsepower level it isn't the fastest thing on the road but it is really really fun! That blower will make the engine feel so much larger on the low end. You'll love it. It would be a great street kit and a blast on the autocross track. If anyone flames you for your purchase just ignore them. You do what makes you happy. It's your car and only your opinion matters!

hell yeah, Excellent work. The SC is the only way to go(from N/A at least) it makes up for what the rotary lacks: lowe-end. Enjoy!

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I'm sorry, but I don't usually like handling my camera when I'm working on the car. I'll be sure to give you some good before and after pics, when I get my hands all cleaned up, though. The package is on schedule and should arrive tomorrow! I'm going to crap myself when I see it, I just know it.

I'm still a little leary about how well the stock NA transmission will hold up. I've got an Exedy clutch that should be able to handle the power, but other than that my driveline is stock. Oh well, if something breaks, I'll try to replace it with a newer and stronger part.

Just curious, are you running the stock ECU with this setup? What else are you doing for fuel mods besides the injectors and fuel pump? I'd think that a Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator and an Super-AFC would be minimum requirements...

By all means, keep us posted!

For now I'm going to use the SX fuel pressure regulator and my SAFC II. I'd like to go full standalone but I can't realistically do that this year. Going standalone would definitely cut into my "rainy day" fund.

It's amazing. I already have two people that are interested in seeing how fast the car is. One is a C5 Corvette and the other is a Chevy 327 powered 240Z. I'm gonna get my *** handed to me both times, but it'll be interesting to see how I can stand up to them.

Dude, this rocks. Props to you for taking the plunge and shelling out the dough.
There is only one way to ensure that the FC keeps getting cool new parts - and that way is to buy them. I'm glad that there are ppl out there who will buy the SC kits.

you know, you should really look at it as an "opportunity" fund. have a positive outlook on what it could one day become rather than looking foward and predict something negative will come and happen. yes, alot of times you WILL have to use it for a bad event that might occur, BUT is it not an oxymoron to call it a "rainy day" fund when infact, that same "rainy day" fund will turn you're bad day into a "sunny day" fund?[/philosophical soapbox]

hell, i have no idea what i just typed.

anyways, torque kills trannys, diffs., and driveshafts. i would sell your na stuff now and get the TII stuff before you might go ahead and break these things which would cause it to have little-no value in the end. good luck, it should be fun!

I just think the torque part about it would be cool as hell. Don't get me wrong I love my high reving turbo charger however sometimes I miss that off the line grunt.

Funny that people are still so damn afraid of the N/A trannies, I'm doing 6k rpm clutch drops with a copper disc on my N/a tranny with ~260rwhp, and i've yet to explode anything. The problem with the camden is it's just not very efficient, especially in the cost per hp department. Oh well I guess, as for 'low' end, you ever see a stock HT18 spool on a high compression motor? Gaurantee you'll think twice about saying you have no low-end with a turbo.

Oh, and I've got a *proper* m90 supercharger setup too, so don't go flaming me about the pro/cons of chargers, cuz I got that too.

it happens and it doesn't happen. it's really all about the history of the parts and how they were driven.

hell, i blew 2 na trannies. YES, i do know how to drive

am i afraid of them? YES.

Unfortunately for me, my "rainy day fund" is also the "kids college fund" so I'm leaving it alone for non-essential parts.
