Older Explorer - Round Boy but not the newest - Cams, Exhaust, and some other things, it was nice sounding but he kept driving like an ahole so he slams up beside me and starts hot braking it trying to use the TC to his ability so I didn't even launch just to see...he was about a half of car in front of me until about 6k rpm, then I put about two car lengths on him by second.

V8 Camaro - First race with him, I grinded third after being side by side with him so that pissed me off, then we finally got another chance but it was right before traffic ended and he flew in between two cars, I waited, so I played catch up at about 100mph I passed him and walked him.

After that I went home after having a fun time for the night, glad to have heat & powersteering again finally! "

Dyno is where it's at! As I was telling you, races are too relative, get to the dyno! That or a regular track too, that's always a good # to have!

Do the carb'd units idle that high?

Yes, that's the design of the supercharger, you go to low idle wise and it creates drag vs actual boost, so now you've just blocked up the intake path.

But 1800 really isn't that bad, but it's DEFINTLEY a big attention grabber, how do you think I got all those races tonight? I was just cruising too!

Defintley, it's my baby !

That's all that matters, sure the power may not be as much as a big turbo or whatever, but it's what I'm happy with is what matters, the instant boost for me is much better than any turbo driven car I've ever ridden in, the feel of the torque range is fun, and I mean, it's some thing different...I'm not here to proove anyone that a supercharger is better than a turbo, that's not my point to this thread...it's to have fun with a car and do something unique!

Yeah, my uneven idle (still a mystery) did the same thing. I never race on streets, though. I've got enough speeding tickets without a street racing ticket, too. Plus I've got a good 1/4 track maybe 20 min from here on one of my fav back roads.
Anyway, this is one of my fantasy projects, along with swapping in a 13b-RE. I expect the RE to happen first, though.

i dont know but the cop i got pulled over by was rather fond of my car. officer "how fast do you think you was going?" me "not sure officer...(dont really look down at speedo but did see my tach and it was flying to redline in third and i was in a 45mph zone...oopz) officer " ok wash the car in the morning" (walks around the car nods and walks away) this was all at night.

i dont have a supercharger but yah.

Wow, you guys aim kind of small with your fantasy, lol. If I had any fantasy over what I'd do to my car, it'd be a 20B with a whipple.

Nice sounding car, would love to know what it pulls on the dyno also...

oh ya, my fantasy is either a 3 rotor full BP N/A or a 4 rotor N/A (12A probably as it is the same length as a 20B or so)

I've got to wait on the locals to have enough intrest to deploy the dyno, they won't just unload it for me alone unless I paid them close to $200...which I'm not going to let them tune my car (no offense, they are great guys, but they are piston tuners not rotary).

I have an aggressive streetport with my 6 port s/c and I idle fine at 1000. I will agree you can't beat the feel, torque and response of the s/c. True a big turbo will give more peak hp, but the torque and sound of the s/c is great.

Except when you get a properly sized turbo that has more torque throughout the entire band than the supercharger does, then you get beat both ways. And with this new charger, I'm sure he could drop the idle lower, the old one had some serious issues with overspinning itself.

Probably had a smaller pulley, that first pulley overspun that charger waaaay too much, I'm sure it could've idler lower if it wasn't spinning it so much.

lol, didn't you read page 3? He's going to hold off on dynoing until he gets a pump and larger injectors and can get it dialed in on the dyno. My quick guesstimation would probably be around the 180 mark right now.

Yeah, well, my friend's got a Mazdaspeed Protege that's doing a 14.4 - 14.6 consistently and we had a buddy of ours flag us, I was dead even with him through first, the shift to second I fell back to his front qp but caught right back up and started to walk away but then the clutch went down to the ground...so I get to find the leak, it's been a gradual thing, the master is brand new so I have a feeling it's just the slave freaking with me, I'll get a braided line for the clutch line this time around. It works fine now that I added fluid back to it but I pulled on a Mazdaspeed Protege that's running 10lb's of boost (they run 7 normally), full exhaust, and some type of gizmo on the fuel system that makes it colder? Don't ask me I don't know...

Anyways, yeah you can defintley feel the AFR on a roller coaster power wise, it needs a tune bad.

And to answer the question on what the guy did different, a carb, the FI kit apparently has problems holding the idle due to the craptastic stock ECU, I'll be going stand alone sooner or later.
