sunroof wont open

I have checked other posts but I havnt seen any with the same issue as mine. My motor turns over on the sunroof and it seems to be in working shape. However I can not get my sunroof open ither by manualy cranking or by the motor. When i try to manualy open it it is stiff as a board. It wont nudge past half a inch. I came to the conclusion that it is the slide bars. But how do i even get to those when i cant manualy open it? any ideas and if this was coverd sorry i looked couldnt find anything with this problem.

My sunroof did the exact same thing. I could not open it with the manuel crank but the motor worked fine. Basically what you have to do is remove the head liner and take out the sunroof and clean the track and springs with brake cleaner and then put lithium grease on it. One spring was rusted on pretty good but i managed to free it with WD-40.

It should work fine after that. Here is the write up that i followed. Hope it helps

My sunroof was closed too when i took it apart. What you have to do is have the sunroof face down so you are looking at the part with the head liner on it and you have to take a flat head screwdriver and CAREFULLY ply back the liner so that the 6 nuts(3 per side) are exposed. But undoing these the roof will come off the track and you can work on it much easier.

and watch the seals when you are putting it back in so it seals properly again. I took mine out and found out the hard way after it rained that in the front it became separated.
