Well, I was pushing up from underneat just a *TAD* too hard and both rails snapped in half and it popped open, good news is it opens, bad news is i need to replace it, but it helped in the process of removing it. It's currently sitting on my floor, I'll be looking for a Black exterior/black interior sunroof assembly if anyone has it (must be working!) for an 89 GXL. I'll take pictures of my mess later

 

If anyone wnats some info on how to remove the sunroof, just PM me.

 

I woudn't remove it your way, buddy, you must have forced the hell out of the thing!

 

Hahahaha, well, i removed it 'correctly' once I 'forced' it open, I just couldn't get the headliner all the way down with it closed, so I had to get it open somehow!
