Quick clutch pedal question(all cars)

I was wondering, if the master cylinder for the clutch isn't bolted on, and you press the pedal to the floor, should it return to it's upright position, or should the clutch helper hold it onto the floor? Mine sticks to the floor and i don't know if my spring is too short. Any ideas?

clutch helper? wtf are you talking about? hehe. I think there is a return spring that pushes it up from the floor, but it isn't very strong

yeah, theres a spring that allegedly 'helps' you push the clutch down, i forgot what exactly it is called, and it's supposed to be a certain length or something weird like that.

The pedal stays on the floor, but you can check the assist spring, according to mazda the installed length should be 39mm(or1.54 inches).
