Sunroof Problem
Does anyone know where you can buy the replacement cabels for the sunroof pannel.
I recently baught an 88 tII which had a stuck roof pannel, Checking it out and found the cabel was rusted and broken inside the tube where it slides. So a call to the local Mazda dealer says it is not aval.
It is a steel cabel raped in a spiral steel wrap serving as teeth for the motor to mesh with pushing and pulling the roof pannel. Thanks

Don't even bother messing with the cables, just find another known working sunroof assembly (Which are cheap as crap) and clean the cables and tracks 'till they look like new before you put it into the car. You can also use that time to rebuild the sunroof motor. It'll be new again.

the sunroof tends to Gum up alot, because of the Rain getting in and Wreaking Havoc with the lubricants on the Tracks.Myself,I just took the sunroof panel off and then Cleaned it up as best I could,Sprayed a Good silicine spray on it and Put the Roof back on.then I worked it back and forth until it was "good enough for this old guy"!..Two years later it wil need some Lube again..as it is starting to Bind,going:bada,bada,bada.bada.bada!..until it gets to the full open position..I am going to get at it,But I got more important things to do..I'll put it on my List of what to do when I get bored.

^I just did this myself. remove the interior trim strips surrounding the roof panel, remove the roof interior panel, and there are about 8 10mm nuts you'll need to remove. Removing it isn't undoable on your own, but for the reinstall, you WILL need someone to help you put it back in.
