Arrow Sunroof Issues..?.

The sunroof is messed up. I've done some searching and and am still unclear on what it could be and how to fix it.

I have taken the sunroof panel off and was looking at it today. I'm still not sure how to completly remove the assembly, and I hear that it is not fun. Don't you have to remove the headliner?

Here is what it is doing: The tracks are off of alignment. I can use the motor to close the right side and use the manual crank to get the left side down. I'm assuming this just forces it into place, thus messing up the gears which I don't really want to do. Then, I use the motor to open it. It works fine untill the right track gets about halfway back then it sticks and the left continues back. So I'm thinking this is a broken linkage..?

How do I get to the linkage and what do I do to fix it? Or what else could my problem be?

Sorry if I haven't searched hard enough and thanks to anyone who wants to help.

Open it to just before where it gets stuck look at the track you can usually see metal *****. they gunk up after a qhilepersonally i use dw-40 and a compressor to blow everything out of it (the wd-40 sorta attracts grime) then some lithium grease to get it nice... if its real bad you can take q-tips and clean everything out on it ... I did it for my windows which is basically the same thing just a bigger track after a few cleaning its worked smoother and smoother

The best solution is to take it out and apart. Use brake cleaner to get all the gunk out and regrease the tracks with lithium\graphite grease.

You will, unfortunately, have to take the headliner out.

I suggest you close the sunroof and don't use it until you feel like fixing it. You don't want it getting stuck half-way open or doing more damage to the tracks\gears\etc.

If you go this route you should get a bore snake (gun cleaning device) and run it though the pipes thta the cables go through. There is alot of gunk in there and that causes most of the problems.

No other suggestions? What about linkage issues? I'm probably going to look at it this weekend.

when i got my car, the sunroof would get stuck also. and one rail would move faster than the other, i thought something was broken, maybe something IS broken, but i cleaned the rails and re-greased them and now it works. it's a little slow and sometimes i have to help it close, but it does work now. i dont think i removed the whole sunroof, i think i clean it while it was in the car. i just used an allen wrench to open it up manually and used cue tips to remove a lot of the junk in there.
