sunroof help needed

my 86 rx-7 has a sunroof and it will not open all the way. only the passenger side will lift up and the driver's side will not move at all. has anyone ever exprienced this before or does anyone know how to remove the system so i can fix it? i know the levers are probably jammed or something broke. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its likely it just durty as hell and all crudded up. I've had the same probelm. Easy fix unless the cable on the driver's side is broken.

1 get access to an air compressor. 2. cover seats and interior with paper/plastic you are about to blow all that crud inside. 3. Blow out as much dirt & debris you can with the compressor. 4. Using rags and then Q tips clean every knook and cranny you can get at. moisten the rags/Q tips with brake cleaner or even WD-40. 5. clean everything dry with rags/Q tips. 5. Lube with a lithium greese. do not use WD - 40 it will attract dust dirt many times faster than with lithium.

You may have to actually tap/push the top to get it to open as you begin the cleaning pricess.
