I'd like to know if there's any way to get rid of the sun roof and remove the mechanism, and simply replace the top with some sort of carbon fiber piece, if at all possible. Thanks.

 

Get the lexan roof. Theres a group buy for $165 i think. Please don't go with a CF piece unless you plan to paint it.

 

Does the lexan piece allow for removal of the motor assembly? Because that's basically all I care about. I just want to save a little money and more importantly lower my center of gravity.

I don't see why you guys would get ones that have it if you don't want it.

I see people whining about having a rear wiper too...

 

argh, i hate my damn sunroof... AND my damn rear wiper.. that's why i ripped it off...

i want my sunny gone too. that's girl stuff.

 

heh, you're not going to make a diffrence your going to notice by just removing the motor.

 

You have an '88 SE? I had one too and it definitely had a sunroof.

 

For your taste - I suggest you remove the sunroof assembly cover it with visqueen & duct tape.

 

For all you guys that hate your rear wiper and sunroof.


Trade me. I have neither and it sucks. I want a sunroof 'cause sunroofs are cool... and a rear wiper so that I can see out the back when it rains. Seriously.


Oh, and by trade, I mean cars. If you want no sunroof/rear wiper so bad you can give up a few miles or so on the motor.

 

really, it is not going to make that much of a difference. You will probably increase ur track time if you invest that 160$ into your track time.

 

truespan88: if you want as sunroof and rear wiper I have a 88GXL frame sitting here with little work you can have that and power windows! pm me if you want to talk I too love my sunroof and rear wiper.
