Hey i was curious if anyone had a diagram of the sunroof assembly they could post for me. Mine hasnt worked since ive had the car, so today i ripped it off and tore it apart and pulled the worm drive cables out and derusted/decrudded them. So when i went to put it back together, i dont remember how everything went. I dont know if the runners on the panel, or the ones on the cable go into the track first. If i sat and played with it for a bit i could probably figure it out, but its been a busy day and my brains fried, and my haynes manuel doesnt even mention the sunroof anywhere. So if anyone could explain how it goes back together it would be appreciated, and if anyone had a diagram it would really really appreciated.
I'm hoping maybe icemark has something like this, since he seems to have and know everything. Anyways, any help would be really appreciated.

BTW, what kinda grease would be best for greasing the track and cable? There was absolutely none on it when i took it apart, but i figure there probably should be. Thanks.

i would try the fsm. i think that would be your best bet. there is one at http://www.fc3s.org i think that you could just use regular engine grease to grease it. that is just my opinion. could be wrong though.

I didnt find anything helpful on that site, but thanks though. Anyone at all got any diagrams, surely someone does.

Ok, heh i figured it all out and got it all together again. Now a have a brand new even worse problem and i figure since i already have a thread started I might as well just use it for the new question. I got everything back together and put back on my car, and it worked fine opening up, so i start closing it, and one side stopped moving. I see the cable movieng, but the panel isnt. So, i unbolt and remove the entire assembly, to find that the cable itself has snapped. So i pull everything apart again and completely remove the cables, so find that it broke because the inner cable had rusted so badly that it just crumbled apart.
So my new question now, is does anyone know where i can buy a new cable that would work. I've tried my two best local hardware stores, but they dont carry anything like it. Neither NAPA, or Schucks carry, or can even get ahold of anything like it. So, does anyone know where i can get ahold of that weird worm drive cable, or am i pretty well screwed? Or is there anyway to make it work with any other sorta cable (i doubt it because of the way the motor works)?
Another idea i had, was if i cannot get ahold of a new cable or anything, has anyone ever tried converting their power sunroof into a manual one? It wouldnt seem like it would be that incredibly hard. The only thing that i would think would be a problem would be finding a way to keep it latched shut. So anyways, any input anyone has would be appreciated. Thnx.
