Sunroof...

ok so i was playing with my sunroof just now seeing why it wont open. i am hearing a clicking sound from the drivers side when i press the button...it sounds like something is stuck. i can kinda push it up a bit and it will go but not far. the passenger side trys to tilt but since the drivers side doesnt it wont go far. i look from the top and on the passenger side i can see something moving in the track. on the drivers side it doesnt move at all. is there any way to fix this without taking my headliner down?

Sometimes you can spray some of that white lithium grease in there but other than that you probably need a new one.

Try opening it manually with an allen wrench. There's a plug in the headliner of the car that conceals the socket.

I need a new sunroof now =( I got mine open and was trying to fix it. The driver side track is totally screwed up... the chain was practically fused to the track... I laughed for a second, then took a screwdriver to the plastic peices to bust it off the track (didn't have the patience to figure out how to undo it correctly...

accidently tore the mount for the sunroof off of a peice that sits in the track to guide it... no biggy though... the sunroof works now and i don't seem to have any leaks... I have to help it back though but it doesn't take much... just push up a little so the passenger side doesn't have to fight the friction... only REAL problem is when I hit 80, if one of the windows isn't down or I don't have the passenger side lock itself in a tilted position... the damn thing pops up... haha kinda fun tho

i have the same problem...the chain on the drivers side is like stuck in the track...its making a clicking noise because its stuck. im gonna try to take it apart correctly and hopefully fix it. i think there was a whole thing on how to take the headliner down in the archives so ill just look around there....

I poked around my sunroof very briefly, and I can't say I saw a way to accomplish much without removing headliner. I could get it open with an allen wrench though, is your's opening at all?
