Sudden Lose Of Power
89 TURBO II cant seem to make sense of it. 5th gear is useless its boggs and pings. acts like its missing butt is firing all rotors. useing alot of fuel about 10 miles per gallon. wont idle it likes to die. if i advance the timing its seems to run better. its my daily driver and i need any ideals. im stuck driving my race car to work and im gonnaa get in trouble lol so please help. its running 5-6 lbs of boost and it used to be at 7-8.

The best way to test the health of a rotary engine - a compression check.
Leading plugs in, trailing plugs out, EGI fuse out (to cut off fuel).
If the engine has been sitting for a while, spray some WD40 in the trailing holes on all rotor faces to free up any stuck seals & build compression.
Install the tester & crank the engine at WOT.
Here is the tricky part.
Open the bleed valve on the tester just enough to see the needle bounce up & down between each face.
Observe the sets of three pressure peaks.
I have read that 120's are possible in a perfect engine. I’ve never seen one.
100's - good
90's - OK
80's - about worn out
My hurt engine reads 85-85-83 front & 80-50-50 rear.

just may be O2 sensor..if you are eating fuel ..my "other" car had bad sensor and it ate fuel like a pig on pot! just my $.02.. but never hurts to check compression.

If the compression is good, then pull the fuel injectors & have them cleaned & tested.
Local diesel injector shops can often do gas injectors.
I suspect you have a clogged primary injector.
