pulled up to the side of the road to parallel park. revered almost in the spot, put it back in first took my foot off the clutch and reverse it still went.
most random thing. its goes in to first and sec. but just binds up, nutral is reverse. and it wont go into any other gears.

Yes, there is such a thing as a broken shift linkage. The linkage is on the top of the tranny leading from the shifter box on the top rear into the trans to the shift forks. I would say that the heim joints (1 or both) are bad and fell off/broke causing this annoyance.

There are no "heim joints", unless we're talking about the clutch pedal to the clutch master cylinder connection?
There is no shift linkage, per se, cause the FC's all use hydraulic actuation for the clutch.
When you mention "shift linkage", most people are talking about a mechanical linkage for the clutch actuation.

The tranny just stayed in reverse when you pulled the lever out to neutral.
Selecting any gear in this condition gives a lockup.
You should be able to select 4th, push the lever to the right & pull 4th & Rev out toghther.

see the thing is i cant even do that. with the clutch in is the only way nutral is going to happen. clutch out and shifter in the nutral position is reverse.
first and secound on the shifter just boggs.

speedo cable is the only thing that it could be,from what you describe.
Easy to find out if it's not attached. The speedo wouldn't work.

If this is an NA, then the simplest thing would be to just replace the transmission and call it done, as it sounds like you would have to pull the trans and dismantle the case to see just what is broken/binding internally, which at that point you can just throw a fresh trans in and scrap the fubar'd one.... or use it as a learning aid.
If your engine is turbo....and you are running a na transmission, shame on you, get the rest of the swap and you'd stop trashing transmissions.
If the engine is turbo, and on a turbo driveline... then you have bigger issues me thinks.
