Such A Thing As To Big An Intercooler?

I'm looking at getting an intercooler for my TII. I'm going with an Apex'i but not sure which unit to buy.

1. GTR 2 core (24" L X 10.8" H X 3" W)
2. Silvia 3 Core (19.7" L X 9.33" H X 2.7" W)

My engine is mildly stock right now but I'm going to put in a better, built engine later.

What do you guys think?

If the intercooler is too big there will be alot of pressure drop across it, resulting in major lag. Also if it is too thick it will restrict flow to the rad, causing overheating. Id go for the smaller personally...

yeah, bigger intercoolers lower boost response a lot, and the bigger they are, the less air the rad gets.

Alright. I'll go with the smaller of the two.

The Silvia core is about as big as most people can handle.&nbsp You've got 26" from frame rail to frame rail, and it's hard to stuff anything bigger than that without resorting to a custom front end.

The GT-R core is already 24", and end tanks are minimally 3" per side.&nbsp The Silvia core will barely fit those specs.
