as far as i have been able to gather, the Stage 1 BNR should fill that core pretty easily, and as far as the surface area goes it shouldn't be to much of a problem with the proper shrouds to guide the air, the radiator is bigger than the opening in the bumper but it still works due to the shrouds in place to help move the fresh air. I'll post when it's in.

it's an ssac 12x24x3. Fits perfect! didn't need to fab up brackets as the stock mounting holes on the core are perfect for the STOCK BOLTS that came off the car. Take a look at the pic, it was the easiest thing to install yet on the car, lol.

These pics may be helpful to someone as mine was based on the Greddy kit, but i modified it in order to keep my fog lights as the orginal Greddy kit eliminates them.

Provides more mass. Even though only some of the cooler is in the airflow, the entire cooler will be functional as it's a big thermal mass. As long as the cooler is not being used to 100% of it's capacity then it will work just fine. If it's being totally used, it will take a lot longer to get the heat soak out of the areas not in the airflow.

I just picked up a front mount that is 26x12x3. It will be going onto an S4 street ported TII engine. Going to go stage 2 BNR turbo. It is rated at 600 cfm's which should support up to about 6-700hp they claim. Oh and its 3" in and out too.
I know you more or less answered this question already but what would your thoughts be on what i just described? I want to be shooting for 300-350whp but also get spooling pretty quick too. I dont want to be creating huge lag with an un-necessarily large intercooler.
