PB&J mod on poly upper control link bushings

I am currently doing a poly suspension upgrade (among other things) and have the rear upper control link bushings that I did not intend on installing when it occured to me there had been a few discussions and some success with the PB&J rubber bushing mod in the past.

My thought is, would the PB&J mod would be beneficial with poly upper control link bushings? By using this mod on the poly bushings and it relieving tension in the upper control links, would I be recreating the same effect as say oem rubber bushings with the benefits of the poly compound? The other interesting thing about these poly bushings is that they are 3 piece with a softer compound on the outside and a harder compound on the inside... so it seems to me that the hole drilling might have a larger effect than say a single compound rubber bushing?

I welcome any comments and observations as I'm curious if a test wouldn't be appropriate whether it be by me (since I am technically replacing the upper bushings with oem at least) or a more qualified individual with this extra set of poly bushings since I will already be pulling the old bushings out.

The PB&J mod..

DO NOT USE THE POLLY BUSHINGS IN YOUR WATTS LINK OR UPPER ARMS!!! It will only cause the rear end to bind sooner even with the PB&J mod... There is no benifit to polley in your upper control arms or in the watts link.

Anyone have any idea where I can get some new rubber bushings? I've looked around and can't seem to locate any other than the whole link assembly.

you wont find any. you have to bite the bullet and buy a whole new arm with bushings in it. Contrary to popular belief I have poly in all my links and the car is very predictable. However I am in the process of getting a panhard bar and tri link setup since there is still room for improvement....

With that thought, being as I really don't want to spend the money on new upper control links and would rather spend that kind of money on a panhard bar / trilink setup... at this time, my old bushings are rather dead and would it make any sense to use the PB&J mod on these new poly bushings or leave the old, crusty, worn out bushings in the upper control arms? I'm convinced poly upstairs will work albeit cause the known serious binding issues, I just want to tone down on it a bit if I can without leaving worn out bushings in place before I go the panhard / trilink route. Not looking for the perfect route but a good temporary route that has benefit over the worn out system (unless worn out is better) I have now until I can go the proper direction I want to.
