Thanks for posting your resolution im going through the exact scenario right now. I'll pull my UIM tongiht and check my injector seals.

For the stock ECU guys check your grounds.

S4's had a ground problem(during a certain year range like early 88's).

My car hesitated like crazy until I grounded the boost sensor to the strut tower.
