stupid question - where is the starter?

Hey my car doesn't start anymore, its an S4 NA. It used to kind of whine down like there was a huge drain even though there is nothing added over stock, not even a sound system yet. Then it was clicking when I tried it now it doesn't do anything, still clicks sometimes.

I've looked at my Haynes manual and at the FSM but still have no damn idea where the starter is as after doing multiple searches and reading multiple threads thats what I'm figuring the problem to be. But I can't even pull it out and get a ride to Autozone or something to test the starter so if anyone has some better photographs of where it is or could give me a detailed description on where to find it it'd be real helpful thanks...

It sticks off the transmission right below the driver's side floor. You will see the battery cable going to it. Hope this helps. By the way--it is easy to replace!

Test your battery first, that clicking is the starter relay clickin on and off, but if the starter doesnt run, its prolly cuz it doesnt have enough juice.

Go to post #3 in the following thread and the starter is the round thing on the left of the image. The thing on the right is the transmission. Now you know where it is, but that's probably not your problem anyway.

Thank you sir.

I replaced the battery (675 CCA) with the one from my FB which is like a duralast gold or some **** which has 875CCA and it fired right up, also cleaned off the slight gunk from the battery posts and connectors.
