Rebuilt with better flow and higher power capacity, basically.

Quote from rx7store.net under Turbo Upgrades, BNR Stage 1:

"Stage 1 turbocharger consists of an upgraded compressor wheel (T04B) machined to fit the factory compressor cover. The turbine wheel is clipped to spec to decrease back pressure and to help stabalize rotating assembly RPM. The rotating assemblies are balanced and blue printed to minimize vibrations and to give you a more reliable turbocharger upgrade. The rotating assemblies are balanced and blue printed to minimize vibrations and to give you a more reliable turbocharger upgrade. The stage 1 is acapable of 300-310 RWHP at or below 15 psi of boost. The turbo will make peak boost at around 3800 RPM. *All Turbochargers come with a 1- Year / Unlimited Mileage Warranty as long as the oil supply lines are replaced* *All Rotating Assemblies are Balanced and Blueprinted* *For Stage 2 and 3 applications, a 360 thrust package is offered for $60 additional charge* "

that wouldn't make it "hybrid" by definition.

hy·brid n.
a. Something of mixed origin or composition.
b. Something, such as a computer or power plant, having two kinds of components that produce the same or similar results.

so they take your stock turbo and replace parts on it from a t04b or whatever, then you can just bolt it back on to your stock Turbo manifold?
